When hairdresser Rita decides there has to be more to life than bleaching roots and teasing frizzy perms, she embarks on a quest for knowledge...for education...and a better life.
She enrols in the Open University, forming an unlikely friendship with disillusioned, disheveled, alcohol dependent tutor Frank – her self-proclaimed “appalling teacher”. Through their weekly tutorials, they challenge each other into a life-changing journey of self-discovery.
