The Armarie Room The Armarie Room is a creative print studio in Nelson, New Zealand. We are proud to be one of the only fine press studios operating in New Zealand.

Founded by artist Renee Hadlow, it is a studio dedicated to creating beautifully-crafted work. Hey....I’d love to tell you a little of our story!! It began with a love of printmaking, an appetite for caffeine and an obsession for heavy, vintage machinery. With imagination, precision, a can of elbow grease, and more than a peck of moxie, The Armarie Room was born! Established by owner Renee Hadlow,

it is a studio dedicated to the craft of quality printing. On a visit to the printery you may see cast iron presses gently clanking and take in the nostalgic scent of ink. These elegant machines have been restored by Renee and a local community of print enthusiasts - journeymen printers who worked these presses in the days when kids delivered newspapers on Raleigh choppers. Today we’re proud to work with this extraordinary equipment. Alongside our products and services, we provide opportunities for hands on learning. We regularly host events and workshops designed to share our knowledge of fine press printing. Should you ever find yourself in sunny Nelson, we would love to share a little of our story with you.

🥇 A Gold Award for this wedding stationery collection and overall winner for Letterpress Printing at the 2026 Pride In Print Awards. 🤗

One of my favourite parts of a project is seeing the creative vision come together on the day. The palette of greens, golds and warm creams, the tapestry artwork woven throughout the collection, and the layered textures of the mānuka artwork and tiled pattern came together beautifully.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped bring this celebration to life.

A moment for these embossed mānuka flowers.

One of the things I love most about letterpress printing is its ability to create texture that becomes part of the artwork itself. Covering almost half of the invitation, these mānuka flowers are one of the defining features of this wedding suite, rising from the paper and inviting you to run your fingers across the surface.

This wedding suite received a Gold Award and was selected as the overall winner for Letterpress Printing at the 2026 Pride In Print Awards. It was incredibly rewarding to have this work recognised in this way.

How fantastic was Make It Nelson?! Thank you to everyone who participated in a workshop at The Armarie Room - it was so much fun creating with you all and I loved having you in the studio. Can't wait to do it all again next year. Thank you to the fabulous team working to make this event run so smoothly, good vibes all round.
