Please join us for an artist talk at Project 100 with Keri-Mei Zagrobelna, as part of her exhibition He Ngaki Māra.

Join the conversation with Keri-Mei and explore the whakaaro that shape this body of work — reflecting on the tending of whenua, of soil, and cultivated kai such as kūmara. Through a rongoā lens, these ideas extend to the tinana: if we are the māra, what is it we need to clear, grow, or nurture within ourselves?

Come along, settle in, and hear more about the stories that form the exhibition.

BYO Cup if you'd like a cup of coffee.

Reminder: Opening tomorrow!

Please join us to celebrate the opening night of 𝐻𝑒 𝑁𝑔𝑎𝑘𝑖 𝑀𝑎̄𝑟𝑎 by Pōneke based artist Keri-Mei Zagrobelna.

When: Thursday 07 May, 5pm - 7pm.
Where: Project 100 Courtyard

He Ngaki Māra speaks to the tending of whenua — of soil, of cultivated kai such as kūmara. When understood through a rongoā lens, this whakaaro extends to the tinana: if we are the māra, what is it we are needing to clear, grow, or nurture within ourselves?

This exhibition positions mahi toi as a form of rongoā, exploring how creative practice can support wellbeing in our everyday lives. Grounded in the rhythms of the Maramataka and the cycles of whenua, the work reflects on balance — when to act, when to rest, when to cultivate, and when to gather. Through contemporary jewellery and adornment, these ideas are carried onto the body, becoming sites of meaning, resilience, and continuity.

Workshop ALERT! Join artist Billie Culy for an exploration of still life and composition this Saturday.

The workshop will centre around a group still life installation, where you’ll learn about thought processes when composing a still life, as well as receive technical advice, and join in conversation around the connection we form to certain objects.

Please bring 1-2 objects of sentimental value. This could be a plant or flower from your garden, a second hand opshop find, or something you've kept with you for a while.

Book your tickets here, spots are super limited!

We're so excited to welcome our next artist to the gallery this month!

Elfi is a contemporary jewellery artist based in Õtautahi, Christchurch. Her jewellery draws inspiration from her surroundings, blending European training with a passion for 'odd' material combinations, experimentation, and play. Nature's forms, media, and phenomena often spark her creativity, while urban culture and current events influence her work. Constantly pushing boundaries, she explores new ways of seeing, wearing, and redefining jewellery. Since 1993, Elfi has exhibited in solo and group shows in public and private art galleries across New Zealand, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, and the USA.

Her exhibition BOND is an exploration into the memory, emotion, and meaning that certain objects carry, and how we can transform the past (the “been”) into something newly resonant.
