DANCE the SUN Nelson Dance Performance Team: Latin and more... Dance The Sun is a performance group which takes an eclectic range of styles of dance into the community.

Our mission is to present dances that reflect our passion for movement, music and the synergy that happens when a group of individuals is synchronised and connected. Some of our dances are simply for the joy of movement while others tell a story or present a message. Some of the genres we’ve covered: electro swing, salsa, burlesque, bachata, cha cha, cumbia and a few moves borrowed from tango, bel

lydance and hip hop. Dance the Sun formed in 2011 as Las Calientes; since then the group has performed in a number of Nelson community events and Latin dance events around the South Island, including the Masked Parade and the South Island Salsa Champs.
