Giving your acoustic guitar a spruce up helps the tone sound better.

Even a cheaper acoustic guitar can out perform a high end guitar if it’s had the neck oiled, scraped, oiled, frets polished, new strings stretched and body polished.

Reach out if you want to get your guitar singing like it was designed to.

Very proud of these songs produced in the studio. Always learning and growing. The songs need to be right before recording starts. I always start with the acoustic guitar and build from there. Let your ears be the judge.

Enjoy Charlotte Miller. Her first time in the studio. She learnt a lot making this song, which she wrote. After having a break from her school music activities she’s been playing guitar lately and this is her first single.

Another song by Norm released. We started with a guitar track and built it off that. Making the instrumentation suit the song is a lot of trial and error with input from the artist.

Tomorrow Shenae and Charlotte will be joining me at the cafe. We’ve been making new songs in the studio recently and it’s time to play them live.

Music development and mentoring is at the heart of what Hummingbird Studio is all about.

As Im working with the Rock The City bands I reflect on the importance of proper preparation. Knowing the transitions, understanding the tools on stage, power of non verbal communication, using space to connect with the audience.

If you are a live performer, study this series of videos. Tom Jackson is one of the best in the business.

Meet Norm, he’s a great songwriter and we’ve been working together on his songs. His eyesight isn’t so good these days so he wears a head torch. Just had to share this pic!

Norm says “I don’t recommend getting old”

With painful arthritis he shows up. Legend.
