I know that this planet is quite remarkable & that people have a great capacity for good & that there is little point in doing anything that does not leave the world kinder, gentler,
more generous, safer, healthier, wiser, more gorgeous & more fun. I know too that there is nothing that is worth doing that is not worth doing with flair & embellishment & while I am not unaware of unpleasantness or the threats to our well being, I try not to dwell on the unpleasant for it depresses me greatly & it is creativity, courage, beauty & generosity that delight... So I spend my time reflecting on what matters, how things work, how good the future might be & making beautiful stuff in the hope that my understanding & aspirations will be reflected in the things I make & do. And I hope the things I do & make have integrity, that they will delight & occasionally inspire & that my community & my planet are no less gorgeous, fun, caring, quirky & occasionally outrageous for my efforts.
