At HERA Pow Wow recently, three women sat around a table, and within minutes, ideas were flowing, experiences were being shared, and encouragement was in abundance.

This is what HERA is all about.

Real women. Real conversations.

Real support.

Some of our conversations are about business.

Some are about life.

Most are a beautiful mix of both, because women rarely separate the two.

At HERA, women come together to share ideas, solve problems, cheer each other on and remind one another that we don't have to do life or business alone.

I've realised over the years that women rarely wake up thinking, "I need to join a networking group."

What we actually think is:

"I wish I had more women around me who get me."

"I wish I had people to bounce ideas off."

"I wish making friends as an adult wasn't so hard."

That's why HERA exists.

Connection shouldn't cost the earth, which is why membership is currently available on a very special offer, making it easier than ever to come and experience what HERA is all about.

HERstory has always been about more than a night out.

Yes, you'll laugh, cry, reflect and leave with stories and ideas you'll still be thinking about on the drive home.

But every year, HERstory also shines a light on an organisation doing important work for women in our community.

This year, we are proud to be supporting the Nelson Women's Centre.

For many women, the Women's Centre provides connection, support, education, advocacy and a beautiful space to hang out.

By coming along to HERstory, you're not only investing in yourself, you're also helping raise awareness of a local organisation that quietly makes a difference in the lives of so many women.

Community supporting community.

Women's stories supporting women.

And honestly, what could be more HERstory than that?

Four local women, Alice, Becky, Loren, and Maryam, share real stories from their lives. Honest, human, and unfiltered in all the right ways.

With a live guest performance from Sophie Hayley, and an evening inside one of Nelson’s most beautiful theatres.

HERstory: Voices of Courage returns to The Suter Theatre in Nelson for its sixth year. A live theatre experience where local women share real stories of courage, resilience and lived experience alongside live music from a featured local musician.

This year’s women are already in the process of shaping stories they have never told on a stage before. Honest, real and deeply human.
