Come and support Napier Girls High School Ad Lucem Choir get to the finals of the Big Sing in Christchurch at the end of August. Come listen to them sing and then stay to watch “Tenor, My Name is Pati’. This is a really amazing story of how two brothers raised in South Auckland went on to acquire international fame with their group Sol3 Mio, eventually performing at some the fanciest opera stages in the world.

Died Peacefully on Wednesday 15 July 2026, aged 59 years. A loved daughter, sister, wife, mum and grandmother. A private cremation has been held.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at 1.00pm on Tuesday 21 July 2026 at the Tabard Theatre, 18 Coronation Street, Ahuriri, Napier. Donna’s request is that you please wear something bright and colourful. This will be livestreamed and a link will be made available on Tuesday.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to Donna’s chosen charities on her Give A Little Page or Cranford Hospice Hawke’s Bay would be appreciated.

It is with extreme sadness that I, on behalf of the Napier Operatic Society Executive Committee, inform our members that Donna Briggs, President and Life Member passed away peacefully this morning, Wednesday 15 July 2026.

Donna, eldest daughter of John and Karyn Briggs, wife of Steve Roberts, Mum of Helena Greene, Natalya, Theo, Iraia; and Sister to Troy, Tarisha Seymour and Christiaan; and Grandmother to Alba.

Our thoughts are with them all at this difficult time.

Donna was an inspiring leader, a hard worker, a great mentor and she was my friend.

Her passing leaves a giant hole in our theatre, and in all our hearts.

We ask that you please give Donna's family time to mourn. Details of how we can pay our respects to Donna will be available soon.
