It’s Friday 🙌☕️🩷

This was earlier in the week on a blue sky, but very cold morning! Knitting socks as per usual, drinking coffee as per usual, and people watching.

What are you looking forward to this weekend? A show? A hike? Yummy food? Time with friends? Whanau? Pet snuggles? A good book? I’m getting through these winter months by putting joy on the to-do list.

94 grams.

That is exactly how much this little 3-6 months cardi weighs.

I used a 150 gram ball of Opal DK Sock Yarn and wanted to see how it knit up in a baby pattern.

And bonus! It’s 75% wool and 25% nylon which means a Mama can put it in the wash and freshen it up when needed.

Double bonus! This pattern called Pop! Baby Cardigan by Rachel Atkinson, can be knit in the round or flat and it’s got directions for both.

I think this yarn is great for slipper socks, absolutely… but honestly kind of fantastic to tuck a ball away into stash for a last minute baby shower gift or new baby. We’ve got lots of colour-ways in stock on the website.

In my happy place last weekend. Knitting in a cozy knit and sat on a knitted blanket. 😜 The pop-up was good fun!

Everyone needs a Trusty Beanie. It’s finally here! Available both on Ravelry and on our website. Huzzah!
The sample beanie was knit on Woolly 8ply yarn which we stock.

Thank you to our wonderful test knitters who took the time to knit this pattern and gave us great feedback and photos to share with you. I hope that you’ll give this a go as it’s a super cozy and satisfying little project. Great for gift knitting, beginner knitting friendly, and just all round classic.

Welcome my new baby into the world with some love in the comments if you please. 🙌🏼🎉🥳

Knitting away on a brightly coloured DK weight Opal sock, magic loop style in Winter. I think it’s a great project if you’re a) new to socks b) new to the magic loop method and c) in the mood for a quicker sock project.

You’ll get a feel for the method and construction of a thing but with fewer stitches, and on thicker yarn so it feels less fiddly. Although magic loop knitting is not my favourite method it absolutely has its place in my arsenal of tricks and is great for sleeves, this type of sock knitting, smaller circumference knitting, etc.

I’d love to hear from you below ⬇️ What have you got on your needles? How are you finding the cold where you are? (Or the heat? Hi Mom💜). I know we don’t all have knitting groups to hash these things out on a local level so consider this your invitation to chat…🫶🏽
