It all starts with an idea. I find it so helpful to create multiple drawings and mark out the scale of my pieces before I begin a new work. It helps keep me focused, but it also helps to refine an idea before I start the making process.

I just love this little dwelling and how, over time, it has become more weathered, almost blending into the landscape.

Details of one of my larger pieces 'Interconnected' in situ. I just loved creating this piece. It was like creating a puzzle, with each piece, large or small fitting together perfectly 👌 Do you notice the circular cut out piece of wood in my work? It would have once been where one of the old school light fittings would have been. There is so much history in every piece of wood I use, which is what makes my work so unique. This piece is up on my website shopsophiejoyprendergast.com
