So what is Blossom Haven you ask?! Well Shea and I were watching one of our fav subscriptions on YouTube and he did a DIY exercise book covering thing with full A4 size sicker paper and we thought it was a fab idea for next years books. Something one-of-a-kind, unique.
So I asked her what she wanted me to do for her books and she suggested that I do a bunch of chibi-like drawings, one for each book. Ok but that's a little boring if we don't have a theme. She then suggested that we should do fantasy creatures like mermaids, fairy, earth elements etc (we are both HUGE fans of such things.) and so with that suggestion I got quite excited about doing this for her.
She also came up with a little story to go along with the theme. They all live in a hidden away back garden of an old cottage out in the country. Daisy, comes to visit her grandparents in thier cottage and discovers
So we have now out laid 13 different little fantasy creatures -not including Daisy- which Shea said that seeing as they live in a garden they should all have flower names. I said, why not! :P I told her I'd like to do a test page to begin with, work out all the kinks and what now and that's how we got Daisy the human girl, who has come to stay with her grandparents for the holidays and she discovers a whole new world beyond the old wrought iron gate, down the garden path beside her grandparents cottage.
In someways this is quite a challenge for me as I have never really been any good and mimicking specific flowers and she has chosen some pretty but not common flowers for the names of these creatures.m and of course she wants the actual flower that the creatures are named after being a feature for each of their pages and on the back panel :O I guess the fact that this project is educating and pushing me is a good thing though :)
So here are the coming fantasy creatures: (yes, we chose creatures that have at least some human traits as she wanted the cute chibi heads :P)
