MANGONUI WATERFRONT FESTIVAL — THANK YOU! 🌊

What an incredible day, Mangonui! 💛🌞
A massive shout‑out to everyone who came along, supported, volunteered, performed, and helped make this year’s Waterfront Festival such a success.

This festival stands on the shoulders of the amazing crew who started it all — and we’re proud to continue what they began, bringing our community together in a way that feels uniquely us.

As the organiser of the event (Danielle Moa - Doubtless Bay Business Association - Secretary & Chair of the Festival Committee), it could not be achieved without these people on the day. Which is made up of our Doubtless Bay Business Association Committee and volunteers.

✨ Huge thanks to our on‑the‑day team:
Stalls, Entry & Setup, Gate takings, Problem Solvers: Ken Spence, Sonia & Dave Tompkins, Pauline & Barry Caley & team, Eddie Bellas & team, Kaye Robinson, Rosemary Archibald, Debra Cummings (Info centre), Jesse & Chester the masters of setup, fencing, and anything else that needed to be done!!!
Bands & Stage: Music Works - Tony & the Team - worked through the night on Friday to achieve stage setup due to delay with weather - outstanding!!!

Security, Parking & Support, Harm Reduction teams: Rodney & Team (Lions), Jeff Phillips (First Security), Cheryl Morrison & Team (Community Patrol), St Johns (Natalie Samson), Max Beckham for use of his land next to ITM and mowing & Mangonui School parking.

Waste & Cleanup: Jo Shanks & the Eco‑Solutions Recycling Ambassadors, & the Scouts for the end of festival cleanup. DBay Hire for Portaloos.

Licensing & Road Management: Tyler Moa (Duty Manager of the festival), Pene Subritzy & Team (SafeTrak), Jesse's on the Waterfront for holding the overarching license for the festival. The Old Oak providing disabled parking.

This is only to name a few that helped so to every volunteer, vendor, musician, recycler, security member, and behind‑the‑scenes helper — thank you. You’re the reason this event runs smoothly and continues to grow each year.

Mangonui, you showed up with heart. 💛
See you again next year! 🎶🍤🌞

🌤️ Mangonui Waterfront Festival Still Going Ahead Tomorrow

Our thoughts are firmly with the people and businesses in Kaitaia who have been affected this week. It’s been a tough time for many across the Far North, and our hearts go out to everyone dealing with damage, disruption, and uncertainty.

At the same time, we’re holding onto some positivity where we can. The Mangonui Waterfront Festival is still going ahead, and we hope it can bring a bit of light, connection, and community spirit when it’s needed most.

We’d love to see as many of you as possible come out, support local stallholders, enjoy the music, and spend a day together celebrating our amazing community. Your presence makes a real difference - not just for the festival, but for the people and small businesses who rely on events like this.

Stay safe, look after one another, and we hope to see you on the waterfront. 💛

🌊 WORLD FAMOUS MANGONUI PADDLEBOARD TEAM RELAY 🌊

Back by popular demand (and at least a decade of legendary chaos), the paddleboard team relay is a must-do at the Mangonui Waterfront Festival!

Grab your crew and get ready for some seriously fun competition. Teams take turns paddling a short course before tagging in the next teammate by handing over the board and baton - and let’s be honest, the handovers are where things get wild. First team to get everyone around the course takes the win!

What you need to know:
- Open to everyone
- No fee
- All equipment provided
- No experience needed (but it helps!)
- Fancy dress highly encouraged

Prizes up for grabs:
🏆 First place
🎭 Best dressed team
🌊 Most epic wipeout

When & where:
👉 Register before 2:00pm at the paddleboarding stand (by the pontoon)
👉 Race kicks off at 2:15pm sharp

No team? No worries - we’ll match you up on the day. Not racing? Come down, cheer loud, and enjoy the action!
