FRI 28 AUG | WUNDERBAR SLAM

This is the most staked lineup I’ve ever arranged for an event; this one is gonna be a GREAT night featuring many different genres and styles. See all the acts below…

LEWIS PARKE - Lewis Parke is an indie alt pop act with a bite, blending new wave influence with a modern indie sound. Living in the dark, the mysterious, the unsaid words that lay in between a conversation. Lush vocals layered on intricate guitar with no other than drummer Ralph Hall playing precise percussion & dynamic live bass sampling. Subtle yet bold and best enjoyed live.

KENRING - are hard hitting, powerful and a musical force to be reckoned with. Powered by the influence of artists such as Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath and The Smashing Pumpkins - mixing it with the psychedelic, psycho flare of The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

THIRD JUNCTION - are a chch based 4 piece indie, pop rock band, need no introduction -

GECKO - crazy live electronica original music -

WULFIE - known for creating emotional songwriting with cinematic electronic production and he also just released a brand new single ‘Paradise’. Indie electronic pop/synth pop -

THE LINDY LOUNGE!
SATURDAY 22 AUGUST

Get ready to swing, groove, and lose yourself at the Lindy Lounge. We have assembled a night packed with some of Christchurch's best jazz, improvisational energy, and infectious rhythm, featuring three incredible acts.

THE QUARTERNOTE POUNDERS bring smooth, effortless swing to life with a soulful trombone out front and a tight rhythm section of piano, bass, and drums. Expect bouncing, breezy tunes, sly solo trades, and classics like Pennies From Heaven, After You’ve Gone, and Take The A Train.

Taking the stage alongside them is NOISE SECTION, Lyttelton’s own freestyle jazz fusion innovators. Formed by musicians who studied jazz and sound engineering together at university, this crew improvises every single set live on the spot. They deliver a bold, experimental sonic experience that will never be played the same way twice.

Rounding out the night is THE SMJ QUARTET, bringing deep experience and effortless cool to the lineup. These seasoned veterans have been playing for a long time, bringing a refined, masterclass performance that grounds the evening in pure craft.

It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing, so get ready for a night bands this good shouldn't be missed. Grab your friends and step into Wunderbar's Lindy Lounge!

HANNE JØSTENSEN - THE LIGHTHOUSE WINTER TOUR
THURSDAY 13 AUGUST

Wellington singer-songwriter Hanne Jøstensen’s delicate and stirring songs carry the sort of intimacy you find in a good friendship. Her intricate second EP ‘The Lighthouse’, released in autumn 2026, reached #10 on the Aotearoa Album Chart and spent three weeks in the top 20.

Hanne's music navigates her unique upbringing on a tiny Norwegian island (where her grandfather was a lighthouse keeper), woven into modern day life on the wild south coast of Aotearoa.

“It carries a sense of stillness balanced with emotional depth, creating space for the listener without demanding attention.” Viddhi Panchal, NZ Musician.

“The Lighthouse is a thoughtfully and gracefully composed EP, with moments of breathtaking beauty.” Peter K Malthus, MuzicNZ.

This Lyttelton concert will be a solo performance where you'll experience the songs the way they were composed, on keyboard and voice. Hanne will also perform songs from her debut EP 'Watch over me', sprinkled with the occasional cover by artists that have had a significant influence on her songwriting.

There will be a break between the two sets so you can top up your glass, socialise, and buy/order some merch!

Bring your lighthouse stories and come be part of this special evening at this iconic Lyttelton venue.

Welcome!

SPARKS OF LIGHT: LOLA VERONICA & WILDCARDS AOTEAROA
SUNDAY 9 AUGUST

A dynamic night of poetry and music with two acts coming together for one night only in Ōtautahi!

WILD CARDS AOTEAROA, based in Ōtepoti Dunedin, are former Poet Laureate David Eggleton, with guitarist and vocalist Richard Wallis, and percussionist and bassist Hiliako Iaheto (of the award-winning Pasifika reggae band 'Koile).

Together, Wild Cards Aotearoa provide a cultural and political vision of Aotearoa New Zealand's contemporary place in the South Pacific – Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa – which is at once local and yet not quite recognisable or predictable.

This is a cabaret presentation that's lyrical and satirical, comical and fantastic – and totally up to the minute. David Eggleton is a jazz-bop-beatnik poet whose poems never cease to amaze and astound, a freestyling op-shop surrealist and fairground carnival barker, rhyming to a rhythmic beat.

LOLA VERONICA'S style blends the intensity of spoken-word poetry with the immediacy of music and song. Her original compositions feature fingerstyle guitar and voice, intertwining themes of language, climate, and personal experience.

She moved aboard a sailboat before she could crawl, and was raised among natural landscapes of our world. With a life immersed in vast seascapes and dramatically shifting weather, Lola Veronica grew up acutely aware of the climate crisis, and the place of humanity in our natural world, both borderless and fragile.

She brings this experience to her creative work, her activism, and her research in music composition, working in bioacoustics and climate change. Her music and poetry seeks to tether the abstract to the personal. And with occasional surprising takes on the Nine Inch Nails, Regina Spektor, and Warren Zevon, you are in for an evening of surprises.

'Lola is a wonder - a talent on fire!' - Mike Chunn
