The Drum Festival A celebration of The Drum, dance performance and workshops set in a secluded valley 1 hour from Christchurch. Camp onsite and immerse in nature.

The Little River Campground and Manaia Native Habitat host The Drum Festival annually. The festival is an intimate drum only festival set on the banks of the Okuti River. Celebrating drums from around the globe, with african, indian, arabic, asian and contemporary kits. Nestled in the Okuti Valley in a park like setting beside the Okuti River the campground is an unique outdoor venue for performan

ces- from hand drums in the stillness of deep native bush to African rhythms riverside and the night time drum circle jam around the campfire. The weekend will consist of performance, workshops and campfire jams, dance workshops and camping. It's also a great weekend to 'talk drums' with sympathetic folk. The festival is open to any new performance or ideas so if you'd like to be involved get in touch.
