The Ellesmere A&P Show is back on Saturday, 17th October 2026, and trade site applications are officially open! 🎪 With crowd numbers easily surpassing 10,000 family, agricultural, and consumer visitors, this is an incredible opportunity to get your brand in front of a massive, captive audience.

⏳ Applications Close: 5th July 2026
📍 Location: Leeston Showgrounds

🐑 Ellesmere Ewe Hogget Competition 2026 is TOMORROW! 🌾

The judging kicks off Friday morning, and the full timetable is locked in. If you want to come along for a look, this day is all about viewing some top-tier stock and catching up with the community.

🚗 How to join: Meet us at the Southbridge Pub at 9:15 AM to head out with the group, or use the timetable below to catch up with the tour at one of the stops throughout the day!

We’ll be wrapping things back up at the Southbridge Pub from 5:45 PM for the prize giving at 6:00 PM. See you out there! 🙌

🚜 CALLING ALL ELLESMERE FARMERS! 🚜

The clock is ticking for the 30th Ellesmere Winter Feed Competition, and the final deadlines are right around the corner! If you haven’t got your entries in yet, here is exactly where things stand as of today:

❌ Silage Entries: Now CLOSED.
🌾 Silage Sample Collection: TOMORROW (Thursday, 21st May)! Make sure your samples are ready to go.
⏳ All Other Entries (Crops & Pastures): You have until this Sunday, 24th May to enter your standout Fodder Beet, Kale, Swedes, Cereals, or Autumn Saved Pasture!

With 15 different categories, let’s see how your winter feed stacks up against the best in the district. 🐄🐑

📝 THE DETAILS:

Entry Fee: Just $10 per entry (Max 4 entries per farm).

How to Enter: Email your entry form to [email protected].

Payment: Bank transfer to Ellesmere A&P Association (BNZ 02-0860-0010241-00) with ref "Winter Feed", or pay cash on the night.

🗓️ WHAT'S NEXT:

Judging Days: Tuesday 26th & Wednesday 27th May (Locations/times coming soon—public welcome!).

Prize-giving: Friday, 29th May at 7:00 PM (A&P Committee Room).

🚜 CALLING ALL FARMERS! 🚜

Are you ready to see how your winter feed stacks up against the best in the district?

The 30th Ellesmere Winter Feed Competition is officially here, and it's time to get those entries in!

Whether you’ve got a standout paddock of Fodder Beet, top-tier Grass Silage, or the cleanest Autumn Saved Pasture, there is a category for you.

🗓️ THE KEY DATES
- Silage Entries Close: Monday, 18th May
- Silage Sample Collection: Thursday, 21st May
- All Other Entries Close: Sunday, 24th May
- Judging Days: Tuesday, 26th May & Wednesday, 27th May
- Prize-giving: Friday, 29th May at 7:00 PM (A&P Committee Room)

🌾 WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Classes: 15 different categories, including Kale, Swedes, Cereals, and various Silage/Bailage types.

Entry Fee: Only $10 per entry.

Entry Limit: To ensure high-quality judging, there is a maximum of 4 entries per farm.

Judges: We are thrilled to have Alister Moorhead (Agricom) as our Main Judge, joined by Farmer Judge Jeremy Wi******er.

Simply fill out the entry form and email it to [email protected].

Payment can be made via bank transfer to the Ellesmere A&P Association (BNZ 02-0860-0010241-00) with the reference "Winter Feed," or paid in cash on the night of the prize-giving.

Our 2027 AGM is about to get underway.

Pictured is our Top Table with outgoing 2026 Ellesmere A&P Show President Tracy McIlraith, Vice President Alistair Barnett and Junior Vice Andrew Christey.

A huge thank you to our committee, Past Presidents, A&P members and members of the public who have come out on this cold night to give Tracy a great send off and celebrate some of our special award recipients.
