Some news for you all.

After 10 years, it’s time for me to step back.

Together we’ve built something pretty special. We’ve created a space for small businesses, makers, creators, families and our wider community to connect, and I’m incredibly proud of everything Bloom has achieved.

As many of you know, Bloom has largely been a one-woman show. As a single mum, I started these markets when returning to full-time work wasn’t really an option. What began as an opportunity grew into a community, a purpose, and a HUGE part of my life.

Over the last year, a series of challenges including the big shed event, has somewhat forced me to take an honest look at what is sustainable and what isn’t. The reality is that I can no longer carry this event on my own at the level it deserves.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that for a long time I felt like I had something to prove. That I could do it. That I could overcome obstacles. That I could build something meaningful.

The beautiful irony is that Bloom already proved those things.

So, with that in mind, we’re taking a pause.

Not Bloom itself. Just the way I’ve been operating everything.

I still love markets. I still love events. But moving forward, I’ll be focusing my energy on opportunities that are more collaborative, sustainable and mutually prosperous. As the saying goes, you can’t expect different results if you keep doing the same sh*t everytime 😂🤭

To every stallholder, customer, volunteer, sponsor, supporter and friend who has been part of this journey over the last 10 years - thank you. You helped create something truly special.

P.S. Since our final market of the season got rained off, part of me wonders whether Bloom deserves one proper season send off.

Important update - 11 April - Cancelled

We had our fingers and toes crossed that the weather was going to land on Sunday and we could still squeeze in our end of season send off, but unfortunately the weather man has informed us that it’s no longer suitable to go ahead 😭😭😭 we know how much all of our stalls and food trucks were looking forward to it! Especially as we head into our winter season. But a stormy event is never a safe event and that is our top priority. We could’ve managed through the rain but the wind adds that little bit of spice that makes gazebos and stock take off. Sideways rain is also never fun.

Anyways!! Onwards and upwards from here, big thank you to everyone’s support throughout our come back in the last two seasons, it’s been a better experience in the new location on the domain than we expected and honestly it makes us so happy seeing you enjoy our vision of the domain and our markets so much.

For now, it’s rest time and will be putting the call out to see what next season looks like. If you’ve ever thought markets could be your jam and you would like to be involved in organising them, please flick us a message.

Continue to support markets and events out in the community, small business is just as vital as big business but it’s the community that’s more valuable than anything and we all need to stick together through all this crazy stuff happening in the world, and connect in person.

Just hand delivered some posters about town for our next night market on the 11th April. Thank you to all the special people in Cambridge that say yes to us. It means a lot! We are looking forward to an end of season send off!! Best put this one in your calendars people 🌸👏✨

MARCH 14th MARKET UPDATE

Hey bloomers!! Just a heads up if you haven’t seen it already but Taz has been given an amazing opportunity to work at the Homegrown Festival and Emma has now got a permanent job, so we are going to skip/cancel the March market and we will eagerly be super excited to see you all back at the domain on the 11th of April for our end of season send off 👏👏🏁🏁

Massive thank you to all of my stalls and food trucks who provided feedback on this decision and super happy to go with the flow! Thankfully March is a pretty full calendar event wise or people are having a much deserved break in between.

April is normally stunning weather wise too!! So we will see you all then!!

Unfortunately the rain wins sometimes and with a bit of convo with our seasoned pros market stalls and food trucks, we know from experience, that rain means people stay inside, cozy and at home. Especially with our Valentine’s Day market 🤣😉

So with that being said our market has been cancelled tomorrow due to wet weather. I know, sad ey!

But please support our stalls an foodies! Purchase some goodies from them still - especially the ones who have made special stock for this weekend. We’ll be sharing them shortly!

Big thanks also if you were going to join us tomorrow. It’s a shame that the forecast has changed. But being the weather man is one of the haaaaaaaardest jobs in events, and our market success is our top priority!
