SKATING MET SINGING 🛼🎤
Our first Skate & Sing was a collaboration between SkateScool Taupō with Kazna and BandScool with Brigitte — and what a brilliant day it turned out to be!
14 kids. 7 songs. 6 hours of learning, creating and rehearsing… followed by a 15-minute mini musical! 🎬
They learned songs they didn't know, discovered harmonies, looped words and sounds, sang choruses together, added some NZ sign language moves, created skating routines — and somehow made it all into one little show.
There were cats 🐱 There were dogs 🐶 and plenty of other animals.
And there was a LOT of singing!
Was lovely to see how quickly the kids picked things up. And the parents were amazed that all of this had been put together in just one day.
Hard work for us… but what a reward seeing the kids perform it! ❤️

🎸🥁🎹🎤 A 4 PIECE FAMILY BAND 🎶
Today’s BandScool was special: Mum, an 11-year-old boy, a 9-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl came along to explore music together.
The idea was that by the end, they might each discover a different instrument they enjoyed — so they could keep playing together as a family.
And… it happened! ❤️
They each found their own instrument to explore further, and we finished with some singing together too.
Mum said the session gave them some really good inspiration and helped them know what to do next.
This is exactly what BandScool is about: Play as a band → Explore the instruments → Find yours 😁 🎶
