Folks we have something cool coming up to promote our town and need your support.

During the school holidays we are planning to do some filming in cinema as part of a promotion and want to make sure we have a big crowd of movie goers.

More info coming (date etc) - but it will be a big deal for us if we can get the communities support and show how much we all love local independent cinema.

This week we had the privilege of seeing some of the incredible film content that's coming to our screens from our Arthouse and Independent studio suppliers including UMBRELLA, TRANSMISSION, MADMAN, RIALTO, VVS FILMS, STUDIOCANAL, ROADSHOW FILMS & VENDETTA FILMS to name a few.

All we can say is that 2026 and 2027 are a veritable abundance of riches for the discerning movie goer starting this August with
& SONS from our friends at Transmission Films New Zealand who are also bringing us THE DOGS SHOW later this year.

& SONS played at the Toronto International Film Festival and the NZ British and Irish Film Festival in 2025 and stars Bill Nighy as an aging and alcoholic literary superstar in this adaptation of David Gilbert’s critically acclaimed novel who, attempts to right his relationship with his family with the time he has left by bringing together all of his children to make amends for his past indiscretions.

Tickets will be on Sale in August.

For those of you wondering - YES there is a PART 2 of Antonin Baudry’s sweeping two-part WWII biopic De Gaulle: Titling Iron coning later this year!

The films chronicle Charles de Gaulle’s defiance after France’s 1940 collapse. Alone and without resources, he stakes everything to rally resistance forces in England, France, and Africa, aiming to prove the fight isn’t over.

With a large international cast, lavish production, and an emphasis on political intrigue over battle scenes, early impressions suggest a grand, serious historical drama worth seeing for epic-history and biopic fans.
