New exhibition at the Carlton Gallery 🖼️🎨 Climate Canvas is now on til November 1st 🗓️

Carlton Gallery is proud to host the finalist exhibition for Climate Canvas, an art competition by Envirohub BOP as part of the Climate Action Festival.🌏

This year’s theme, Precious Resources, invited artists from Tauranga, the Western Bay of Plenty and Rotorua to explore resources we often take for granted—from water, soil and air to clothing, community, time, biodiversity, and mātauranga Māori and kaitiakitanga. ❤️🖤💚

Ten finalists were selected, with works spanning 2D and 3D art on canvas or board. Following their first exhibition at The Cargo Shed in Tauranga, the finalists’ work now comes to Katikati. ✅

From 05 October to 01 November 2026, Carlton Gallery will showcase the exhibition, offering locals and visitors the chance to experience this year’s Climate Canvas entries up close.

“Art is such a great way to express things that words can't do alone,” says Te Ara Dirkse, Envirohub BOP Project Coordinator. “This competition gives people a way to communicate their feelings about climate change and get people thinking.”
