Sharing our 3rd facilitator who will facilitate Manaaki Movement - Indigenous Dance workshop:
Facilitated by Jade Whaanga. Manaaki is to care for, protect and show generosity towards others. This workshop invites us to explore movements that reflect Manaaki, other indigenous concepts and the natural world. Through movement exploration, we seek to deepen our connection to self, others & our environment. Most of all it’s about having fun, playing and connecting.

✨Tā Te Manawa ~ Māori Artist Retreat featured facilitator✨:
Whitney Zakaria will be facilitating Tamatoa Creative - Weaving workshop: Immersive healing and creative experience. Connection to Papatūānuku and Tupuna through learning the art of weaving harakeke.
:::::::::::
Whitney Zakaria is an Indigenous Wahine creative with Waikato Tainui/Ngati Korokii Kahukura, Orang Asli & Malayali whakapapa. Whitney is a Kairaranga & Kaimirimiri born and raised in Tamaki Makaurau, Aotearoa.
Whitney's mentors have helped her find her feet in the world of Toi Māori (specifically Raranga) and Indigenous Māori Healing. Tracey-Leigh Te Paa of Māreikura Rising, Rosalina Yerkovich of Te Wānanga O Aotearoa, and Chelita Zainey are some of the Wāhine Toa that have passed down their Matauranga Māori and helped guide Whitney's journey. Whitney created the pākihi Tamatoa Creative to create Toi Māori commissions and one-offs. Tamatoa creative has since branched out to hold community wānanga for people to hui and learn the fundamentals of Raranga. Whitney's journey as a space holder continues in many different settings, including alongside 3 other wāhine Māori under the ingoa Āhuru Space (kaupapa Māori space for those working through sexual trauma). Whitney has collaborated with multiple wellness practitioners to carve out and hold tapu spaces for Wāhine and non-binary folks.
