"We’ve found our own quiet, beautiful piece of land and are building our pottery. We both make a range of work and really love the connection we have with our customers when they use our pots. Each piece is unique, hand made, fired in our wood kiln and is influenced by where we live.” Duncan Shearer.

To make sense of your glazes you need to understand 2 key ratios: Silica:Alumina and Alkali:Alkaline Earth, together they help predict how your glaze will look when fired. Learning about the way we generate these ratios using software to analyse what’s going on underneath the hood (so to speak) is a key part of upcoming workshop. Choices around sources of materials, H & S, what quirks they have either in the slop or in the kiln to watch out for. We also explore different glaze testing methods and have a go with a volumetric Biaxial blend - these tests are then fired and we look at the results at the end of the day. Head over to our website to book.
