Writing music has always been a challenge for me. I'm more of a chords guy really but since I studied I have gained some confidence with making believable melodies.

I have also always been interested in technology and the latest advances have also changed the game with music.

I've been tinkering with suno.ai after Jade Leatherby-Tipene showed me some of his results. I have so many half finished (quarter finished... lol) songs that no one has heard. The one I'm sharing here is from 5 years ago and I can't even remember doing it. I like where it is going... but then suno takes it and completes it and its sounds legit - at least I think so. I'm not sure what the future holds for musicians but it would be dumb to put your head in the ground and hope it goes away. The original idea in black is first, the suno version is second.

Kia ora koutou, We are pleased to be hosting one of NZs premiere saxophonists at Kaitaia College March 9 & 10. As part of this visit, Louisa will be working with our student musicians during the day and the KC Jazz Band will be putting on a show on Monday 9th of March in the evening. The show will also feature a number of local artists mixing it up with Louisa including Jade Leatherby-Tipene, Alex Simeti & Robin Wells. We also have the awesome jazz pianist Matt Watson travelling from Whangarei to ti**le the ivories of that wonderful grand piano. This promises to be a great show.

The show is fundraising to support our new Kaitaia College Music Academy (full-name to be announced on the night). Message Matua Jonathan Pirini for tickets...$20 each...Don't miss out.
