Thank you to all the friends and whānau who came along last night to support the bands who performed this year 🎵

The results are as follows:
1st - Best Served Chilled Jazz Combo, Wakatipu High School
2nd - The Jazz Prophets, James Hargest College
3rd - V.C.D.C., Verdon College

Best performance of the test piece Blue Monk - Best Served Chilled Jazz Combo, Wakatipu High School
Best compère - Isla Angus, Fiordland College
Best vocalist - Grace Tiko, Cromwell College
Best flute/clarinet - Bridie Nicol (flute), Cromwell College
Best saxophonist - Jotaro Matsuo (tenor saxophone), James Hargest College
Best brass - Sam McGregor, (trombone) Verdon College
Best pianist/guitarist - Brandon Fabia (pianist), Verdon College
Best bassist - Haru Kuroe, Wakatipu High School
Best drummer - Joel Winter, Wakatipu High School

Many thanks again to the ILT Foundation, our judges Jim Crawford, Michelle Reynolds, Antonio Mercuri, MC Craig Waddell, Sound Technician Vance Manu, Matt Ward for the loan of his drum kit, Itinerant Guitar Teacher Mr Ross Ogilvy, TiC Itinerant Music Mr Michael Forde, and Itinerant Cello/Bass Teacher Mr Wayne Perniskie for organising the event, The Southland Youth Jazz Band for performing while the judges deliberated, and all the kaiako who gave up many hours of their time to tutor these wonderful up and coming musicians 🙌👏

Hi everyone it is that time of the year again! Come along and support the students from Southland and Central Otago as they perform at the I.L.T. Jazz Fest.

Thursday the 17th of August at 7:00pm. Door Sales, $10 for Adults and $5 for Students.

Hi everyone, Jazz Fest will be on Thursday the 27th of October (fingers crossed). The test piece is Four, by Miles Davis.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly.

Hi everyone, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Jazz Fest 2021 is cancelled this year. We can't run it at level two, (we were so close). See you next year. 🤞

Hi everyone, as you are all probably well aware Jazz Fest 2021 cannot proceed if we are still at level 2.

At this point we are waiting for the next government update, so we can make a decision if the event can go forward. We are waiting until October the 5th to make the final choice for cancellation as we have to let the venue and all others contractors know if it can go forward.

Fingers and toes crossed, that will be able to get on with Jazz Fest 2021. I will let everyone know what will happen a.s.a.p.
