Dance NZ Made 🇳🇿✨

What a fabulous evening at the Dance NZ Made Inter-School Exchange! 💫

Our Creative dancers had an absolute ball representing their schools and sharing their Creative solos on stage. We’re so proud of them for getting up there, representing both their schools and The Creative, and doing what they love! 🖤

We’re missing a few dancers from the photo, but that certainly doesn’t make their achievements any less special! 🫶🏼

A huge thank you to Dean from DNZM for organising such a fun and inspiring event. It was so awesome to see young people from across our schools coming together to celebrate dance.

And how great is it to see dance and the arts being celebrated, supported and given a place within our schools?! 👏🏼

More opportunities like this = more young people getting to experience the joy, confidence and connection that dance brings. 💃🏽✨

It’s Tongan Language Week, and we’re celebrating by bringing a little more lea faka-Tonga into The Creative! 🇹🇴

Mālō e lelei means hello / greetings - so why not give it a go this week? 👋🏽

Dancers, use it to greet your teachers, your friends and each other when you walk through the studio doors. A small phrase can be a beautiful way to celebrate language, culture and identity. 🖤

Spirit Dance Competition ✨

What an incredible weekend at Spirit Dance Competition in Mosgiel! ✨

We are SO proud of our Creative dancers and the results they achieved across the weekend. More importantly, we were incredibly proud of the way they performed with confidence, maturity, energy and such a high standard of artistry.

The feedback from the adjudicator was absolutely incredible and a real reflection of the work that goes on behind the scenes. One comment that really stood out was on a Senior Jazz report in regards to Ms Bella’s choreography:

“This has been choreographed to an international standard.” 🤍

As a choreographer and teacher, comments like this mean so much. There is so much thought, time, creativity and intention that goes into every piece we put on stage, and to have that recognised at this level is incredibly rewarding.

A huge congratulations to every dancer who competed. Whether you walked away with a placing, a special award, valuable feedback or simply a performance you were proud of… you should be so proud of yourselves. 🫶🏼

A massive thank you to our incredible Creative teachers, choreographers, parents and supporters who continue to get behind these dancers and give them the opportunities to grow.

And to our dancers… keep pushing, keep creating and keep believing in yourselves. The standard you are achieving is something very special. ✨

The Creative is so excited to be hosting Elite Dance Convention these October school holidays! 🪩✨

Whether you’re a recreational dancer or a competitive dancer, this convention is for YOU! 💫

Come along for three incredible days of dancing, learning, creating and making new friends… all while being taught by some seriously incredible teachers! 🕺🏼💃🏼
