Awesome mahi from all our Rockquest performers last night. The evening was a terrific night of original music and a positive environment with students across all schools supporting each other and showing manaakitanga. Congratulations to Ben, Nathan, Dylan, Scout, Ollie, Will, Alec, Jack and Lara. Special mention to Ben for being the student reporter and Lara who won First place in the Solo/Duo section.

A big thank you to the Repertory Invercargill for having Senior Drama along for the final dress rehearsal of Constellations last night. We were absolutely blown away by this incredibly moving gorgeously lit and directed show. The acting was top notch, we are so lucky to have amazing mahi like this to inspire our young actors in Murihiku. Opening tonight at 7:30pm, there are $10 student tickets with ID (door sales only), otherwise well worth the $35 price of admission.

The Chamber Music Contest was held on Thursday night in Invercargill. It was a wonderful evening of musical performances featuring 8 groups drawn from. across our Invercargill high schools. James Hargest ākonga were in all of the 8 groups that performed, and we would like to acknowledge them all for their beautiful performances. Special mention to Episodic Form featuring three JHC musicians, who were the overall winner and will go on to represent Southland at the Regional Final in Christchurch later this month. Special shout out to our Itinerant Percussion teacher Trinity Waddell who organises the event as well as teaching, and all the music teachers who support our students. It is wonderful to see the connections across different schools that this contest fosters. Ka rawe!
