Hopefest 2019, is the 6th biennial, week-long celebration which features a series of community activities and seminars including the Big Share Fair at Hope Church on Ranzau Rd. HopeFest started life as a birthday celebration for the opening of the new Hope Community Church facilities back in 2008, when we realised that a useful gift back to our community would be more worthwhile than a birthday pa
rty for ourselves. From this small beginning HopeFest has developed into a biennial celebration with week long series of seminars and activities that are motivated by a desire to strengthen families and individuals in our district. The highlight of Hopefest is typicallying the Big Share Fare where thousands of things are given away to the local community on a first come first served basis. However, Hopefest also includes a charity quiz night when the winners will give $1000 in prize money to the Nelson Tasman Hospice, Nelson-Marlborough Rescue Helicopter, St John, Big Brothers, Big Sisters and Red Cross Refugee Services. Due to the generous support of sponsors and donors all the events and activities are able to be offered to the local community free of charge.
