Thinking about auditioning for a stage show next year? Always wanted to improve your acting skills? Register now for our super cool 2 day acting workshop!

Opportunities for stage are abundent on the coast these days. This two-day workshop will help you develop your acting skills for stage AND screen. A pathway to screen means taking your skills and turning them into a very real pathway to a career in acting.

What to expect:
Day one will see us working together to really prepare the tools available to us as actors. We'll also practise analysing a script and how to prepare it like a pro. Then we will work together on screen basics and self-taping.

Day two will build on the preparation we've done in day one and bring the work to life in the space. In the afternoon, we will record some footage we can learn from and that you can take home to start building a showreel.

Howard Fardelbear (CE Bechtel) is determined to sniff out a liar among his family. He trusts no one: not his oh-so-knowledgeable niece Charlotte (Brooke Mellsop), nor his slightly dottery housekeeper Eunice (Susan Prendergast), not even his own sister, beyond-pious Prudence (Felicity Jordan), who takes offence to rudely shaped mushrooms in the garden!
Everyone in this room has their own agenda, and hilarious chaos ensues when two bumbling burglars attempt to steal a priceless painting.

Delicious dinner + a hilarious show! You don't get that often on the West Coast.
Hokitika Dramatic Society proudly presents:
Over the course of an evening, two bumbling burglars attempt to steal a priceless painting from Fardelbear Estate. The heist takes a disastrous turn when they accidentally kill the lord of the estate, Howard Fardelbear. Their plans further unravel when the household throws a party in the very room where the burglars have hidden both the painting and the body. Desperate to cover their tracks, the burglars weave a web of lies to misdirect the partygoers. But their lies work too well, sending the impressionable and self-absorbed guests down a spiral of absurd misunderstandings. Relationships crumble, tempers flare, and chaos reigns. In a final twist, the burglars’ own lies circle back to ensnare them, driving a wedge between the pair and sealing their fates.
