Well the word is out! Born Under A Lucky Star exhibition is now on display at the Lysaght Watt Gallery. Fantastic textile art pieces made by our local community, some who are first time exhibitors. Come along and see the creative work of Ron Te Kawa and other South Taranaki artists. You will thoroughly enjoy this exhibition.

We enjoyed an amazing opening event on Sunday at the textile art exhibition, Born Under A Lucky Star!

Ron Te Kawa was there leading the exhibition. The opening was well supported, enthralling and inspiring. We heard from the arts co-ordinator Michaela Stoneman that some of the happy South Taranaki artists "are first time exhibitors". Ka pai whanau.

It's wonderful to see the work that our community are achieving! We warmly welcome your visit at the gallery to see this exhibition.

The textile art exhibition, Born Under A Lucky Star, is led by Ron Te Kawa and other South Taranaki artists and facilitated by STDC arts co-ordinator Michaela Stoneman. It will be on display at the gallery during 10 August- 14 September 2026.

Last chance to see Te Rautoi Exhibition before it closes on 8 August 2026! This exhibition commemorates the 50th anniversary of Parininihi Ki Waitōtara's establishment and draws inspiration from the powerful ngeri composed in the early 1900s, Rau Te Tai Akina. This is a collection that tells the journey of Taranaki Māori artists and one that should not be missed. Hope to see you soon.
