People always talk about how sore it is sitting through a 5-hour tattoo session, but have you ever thought about the tattooist?
For those same 5 hours, we're standing or sitting in one position, often bent over at awkward angles, with little room for movement. Every line, every detail, every piece of shading requires complete concentration and a steady hand. There are no shortcuts when it comes to creating something that's going to be on someone's skin forever.
Behind every finished tattoo is hours of planning, drawing, setting up, sterilising equipment, preparing the workspace, and making sure everything is done safely and professionally. Then comes the actual tattooing, where focus can't slip for even a moment.
So next time you're sitting in the chair thinking your tattooist makes it look easy, remember there's a lot more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye.
