A bit of an introduction:

My name is Aaron, I am 32 and I have been doing dance calling as a little bit of a hobby for about 8 years now. but doing these sorts of dances for about 17 years now. I have called a few English Country dance socials that I have organised,
I have done a couple of 21st's (1 was a barn Dance), a sweet 16th Barn dance, and a few other birthday parties, a couple of youth gr

oup events and a couple of camps. I know English Country,
a few Country/western style dances & Line dances; as well as a few other dances in similar styles, and still trying to learn more as I go along. I have also done 3.5 years of basic Ballroom, Latin, & New Vogue.

- How I started calling:
I went to an English Country dance when I was about 15, and I was hooked,
(for those that don't know, English Country Dancing is the kind you would see maybe more in movies or old English Period dramas, like Pride & Prejudice, or other "Jane Austen" style programs.) Since then been to a few more organised dances,
and then after one such event at the Hamilton Gardens, a group of friends that I was with, we were discussing about wanting to do more, and so it was decided that we should organise something, and so I volunteered to organise, and since I already knew quite a few of the dances, it was decided that I should call them, and it's just grown from there. Then I got asked to do a friend 21st Barn dance, and word's spread from there, and been asked to dance call different events,

So it started off as an interest in the English Country style & then also adding in some country/western style dances to add a different mix, and also allow for doing diffferent events

Howdy all 🤠 hope you year has started of well, I can’t believe we are nearly Half way through the year already.

Evening all, I know i haven’t posted much on here lately, as previously posted I broke my leg back in February, after 7 months off work and rehab, I started back at work in October, leg has healed really well, and back to relatively similar strength,

I had done a couple of dance events for birthdays and a wedding during that time,

Also coming up I am attending a company Christmas party in Fielding to do some dance calling for their Christmas party,
And also have a couple of ones coming up for family camp and kids camp, in Matamata, and a family camp in Auckland. So have a busy month ahead for dance calling.

I will also look to restart hosting an open dance event like I have done in the past, it has been a while since we have done one and I know lot have asked, there has been a lot that has happened in the last 12-18 months 🙂

But If you’d like me to come for your event please feel free to give me a call.
