HELP WANTED - PAINTING

Saturday 6th June (this weekend!) - 11am onwards at Riverlea Theatre.

Hi everyone, we need some help with painting for the upcoming Swallows and Amazons show.
If you could spare some time on Saturday, put on some old clothes and come down and help our Chief Mech Hugh Field, that would be greatly appreciated.

If you have an artistic background or any experience with landscape or mural painting, we especially could use your help!

Thanks! 😁

We welcome Mila Bremner to the Riverlea stage, performing as Nancy, leader of the Amazon Pirates.
Mila comes to us from Hillcrest High School where she has performed with their experienced Drama Department. Last year she performed as Cléante in the play Tartuffe. This year so far she performed as Sir Hugh Evans in Merry Wives of Windsor for the school's Sheilah Winn entry and looks forward to further opportunities there.

Mila also enjoys being involved backstage in the theatre, most recently she worked as lighting operator for 13 the musical in Morrinsville.

She is excited to be involved in this production learning about and from a theatre that is new to her, with a group of likeminded individuals.

The Disc-renowned Vitoller’s Strolling Players is bringing Wyrd Sisters to Hamilton as the first stop on its Roundworld tour.
Due to an unfortunate incident with a troll, we no longer have any players with attached limbs, and are seeking local replacements*. The list of available roles is in the notice pinned herewith.
As previously mentioned:
NO orang-utans. Needless to say, no trolls either. Not that there isn't a place for trolls in the theatre, just that they tend to be production managers and we already have one of those.
While there is a part for a Demon in this production, actual demons are probably not best suited for this particular role. Not that we aren't fully inclusive, mind you. Keen demons might be considered for the Stage Manager position if the current one finally succumbs to one of the many and various attempts on her life.
If you feel the call of the stage for this production of Wyrd Sisters and possess sufficient limbs, email [email protected]
*Yes, we did consider renaming the company ‘Vitoller’s Rolling Players’ but the posters had already gone out.

Auditions held: 6/7th June
Performance dates: 3-17th October at Riverlea Theatre

Max plays Roger, the youngest of the Walker children and Ship's Boy for the Swallow. This is not Max's first time on the Riverlea stage. He is a Stagecraft student and performed in last summer's Moana Jnr in the ensemble. He really enjoyed the people and community he found in the Moana Jnr cast and has settled right in as the fun-loving younger sibling to the cast of Swallows and Amazons.

Max has also performed in his school's productions, particularly enjoying the really expressive parts he's had in those. Max loves being on the stage because "there’s lots of people supporting you and it’s a place where you can be what you want". In this particular performance he is looking forward to doing some of Roger’s funny lines to make people laugh.

This play is all about adventure and imagination. These young people are out on the lake having the time of their lives, independent and doing things we possibly wouldn't let our kids nowadays do alone. So, what would you do? Would you let your 7-12 year olds go out on a sailing boat and camp on an island?

If you'd like to see how the Walker and Blackett children get on with their saling and camping trip, head over to iticket to grab your seats to watch the show

Rose is a year 8 student at Waikato Montessori. She takes on the imaginative and thrill-seeking role of T***y Walker; Able Seaman for the Swallow. Rose's theatre experience involves performances in the National Youth Theatre's Little Mermaid, Peter and Wendy and Frozen Jnr. She is also a student of Riverlea's own Stage Craft. Her favourite thing about being in theatre is being another character, and she is loving being T***y because she is fun and imaginative and uses her creativity to make up games and scenarios.
