BENJAMIN SHEPHERD TONIGHT! is the man on Bass, both Upright and Sideways, in our Friday night night band "Honorable Mention", 7pm doors, acts start 7.30pm, $10 entry.
Born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand I started playing the bass at age seven. At eighteen I moved to Los Angeles to pursue a full time music career and to study with bass legends Charlie Haden, Alphonso Johnson and Darek Oles at the California Institute of Arts (CalArts). I was then fortunate enough to become one of the most versatile and in demand bassists in Los Angeles.

The Monthly jazz session is on this Friday night, presented by the Speakeasy Kirikiriroa Club. Come along from 7pm till ? gig of Jazz, with a little funk and Latina sounds thrown in for good measure. Opening Duo Cara & Alistair are stalwarts of the Club. Then we are treatedc by Mr Carlos Pla bass extroinaire with his Co-Lab band. $10 on the door.
