At our AGM last night, we had the absolute pleasure of awarding Life Membership to two thoroughly deserving members of our HOS family. ❤️
How appropriate, then, to find this wonderful photo of them together as Monsieur and Madame Thénardier in our 2017 production of Les Misérables! 🎭
NICK WILKINSON
Nick's theatrical journey with HOS began with A Chorus Line in 1996, the first of many productions that would see him contribute to the Society in an extraordinary range of roles, both on and off the stage.
As a performer, there has been an impressive versatility, with a diverse range of characters brought to life across productions including Evita, Les Misérables, Cats, Hairspray, Mamma Mia, The Rocky Horror Show, The Full Monty, Blood Brothers, The Phantom of the Opera, and Joseph, among many others.
What stands out when looking across this career is not simply the sheer number of productions, or the places theatre has taken him, it is the breadth of the contribution — and the way that contribution has been shared with the people around them.
FIONA BRADLEY
We have the pleasure of recognising Fiona whose contribution to Hamilton Operatic Society spans an extraordinary 40 years.
A snapshot of her impressive performance career includes a soaring soprano in the 1988 production of Die Fledermaus, alongside Dame Malvina Major. Fast forward to 1995, when she began a trifecta of Les Misérables performances, first as a Lovely Lady, six years later as Fantine, and finally in 2017, this time as the treacherous Madame Thénardier alongside Nick Wilkinson. Other roles include Svetlana in Chess, where, together with Sam Ware, she delivered a memorable performance of the much-loved I Know Him So Well.Across four decades, she has served as a Board member on multiple occasions, served as President of the Society, and taken the helm as Chairperson during a particularly challenging period in HOS history.
Thank you for your forty years of involvement. The timeframe is a remarkable achievement in itself, but it is the breadth of that contribution, and the generosity with which you have shared your time, skills and enthusiasm, that makes this recognition so deserved.
