This book almost didn’t happen — and somehow, that makes me even happier that it did. ❤️
It took me around three months to create all the illustrations, and the whole process happened while I was constantly on the move. I started working on it during my travels through Jordan, then continued in Sri Lanka and Georgia.
When I finally came back to Lithuania, I broke my right hand.
For a moment, I thought maybe that was it. But I really didn’t want to let the project go after putting so much into it. So I taught myself to draw with my left hand and finished the last few illustrations that way. 😅
And somehow, I made it to the finish line.
I sent the final files to print while I was already on my next journey, heading towards New Zealand. ✈️
Looking back, this book carries so much more than just the illustrations. It carries three months of work, several countries, a broken hand, a lot of stubbornness, and a decision not to give up. :D
I’m so, so glad it finally came out. ❤️
