Come catch Snowpea Apirana kicking off your weekend with attitude, camp, and questionable decisions (the fun kind).

✨ It’s been a busy few weeks, darlings! ✨
From the runway to the protest line — I’ve been doing it all 💋
👠 Huge thanks to Lois, Pip, Steve and the whole team behind Fashion at The Grange for inviting me to represent and support the Louise Davies Pancreatic Cancer Research Trust. Such a beautiful cause and even more beautiful people 💜 https://www.louisedavietrust.com/
💎 Behind the scenes, and I have been building our upcoming show — Diamonds and Pearls: The Quiz Night Edition — and I’m thrilled to say I’ve choreographed 2 of our 4 numbers! (Yes, honey… we’re bringing full sparkle energy ✨)
🐚 I’m also deep into week 5 of 6 of my Burlesque with classes — working on something special… Southland’s very own Oyster Girl 👀 stay tuned for that reveal!
🩺 Today I stood in solidarity with the nurses and healthcare staff at the Stadium Southland sit-down protest — calling for equity and fair treatment under this government. You can even spot me in the Kaitiaki News article here 👉 https://kaitiaki.org.nz/article/one-of-the-biggest-strikes-weve-seen-nurses-teachers-doctors-turn-out-despite-weather-chaos/
🎭 Next up: December 5th at Inch Bar Dunedin — performing two new numbers you won’t want to miss!

💜 From the picket line to the stage 💜
Proud to have joined so many nurses, teachers, and doctors in solidarity at Stadium Southland — even if it turned into a sit-down strike thanks to the wild weather!
It was all about showing up for equity, safety, and respect in our healthcare system — and what a day it was. You can even spot me (in drag!) in the Kaitiaki coverage of the event 👇

Feeling grateful to stand with so many who care deeply for our communities — on the wards, in the classrooms, and yes, even in heels 💅

📣 Update time e te whānau 📣
It’s your girl Snowpea 🌸 — been a little quiet, but for good reason!
🧵 Been behind the sewing machine, updating the nurse outfit 👩‍⚕️✂️
🎶 A new lipsync is on its way, plus an interview vid I’m really excited to share.
💪 Huge shoutout to Paula & the crew at Advance Fitness Invercargill — if you’re into Les Mills programs, come down and get involved!
🙌 Big thanks to Lou & the wider community for helping me keep things moving with odd jobs.
🎭 Special aroha to — a powerhouse burlesque artist, producer, and teacher. Thank you for the comp tickets to DIRTEASE Vol. 5 (what a show!) and for sharing your wisdom in the walking-in-heels clinic 🖤
🎶 The Southland Musicians Club are bringing the magic again with DIRTEASE Vol. 6 — Dec 6th, tickets go on sale early November. Lock it in whānau!
Ngā mihi nui,
Snowpea 💋

Nurses have held us—now we hold them.
On September 2 & 4, over 36,000 nurses, midwives, kaimahi hauora are striking for safe staffing and patient safety. Our health system can’t wait—and neither should we.
How you can support:
• Share this post + spread the message.
• Join pickets or rallies in your area.
• Sign the petition to back paid training for student nurses.
• Donate to the Strike Hardship Fund for nurses sacrificing wages.

✨ From Whina’s words to Hinewehi’s Kohitanga to Beyoncé’s My Power — this performance was my wero, my offering, my voice. Standing in Dunedin for Fresh Meat with the Ōtepoti Drag Registry was electric, and I’m so grateful for the space to tell this story on stage.
Big aroha to for hosting and to for backing our q***r futures. Ngā mihi also to everyone who came through with koha, makeup, accessories, and good vibes — you carried me here.
This was more than a performance. It was whakapapa, protest, celebration. 🌈
