Dunedin Youth Chamber Music Festival 2026 was founded by Heleen du Plessis Cellist who is the Artistic Director of the Festival. She conceived the initiative and led its development from initial concept to realisation, shaping its artistic, educational and organisational direction. Listen to the discussion on RNZ Concert. 🎶 A wonderful afternoon of chamber music at Marama Hall! As part of the School of Performing Arts, University of Otago Music Programme Showcase, classical voice and instrumental students presented a wonderful programme of chamber music at Marama Hall.
It was particularly special to see so many talented young musicians performing — and many of the participating students were also finalists and participants in the 2025 Dunedin Concerto Competition.
We are incredibly proud of each of them. These are wonderful young musicians who are developing their talents and helping to carry classical music forward into the future. 🎻🎹🎶
We hope to see many of them again at the Dunedin Youth Chamber Music Festival (DYCMF) 2026, taking place in December and presented by the Dunedin Concerto Competition Charitable Trust in association with the University of Otago School of Performing Arts.

🎻 Boudewijn Keenan returns to Ōtepoti Dunedin! The Dunedin Concerto Competition’s 2023 winner, cellist Boudewijn Keenan, is returning to Dunedin to present a special recital on Thursday 1 October at 7pm at Marama Hall.

Boudewijn will be joined by fellow Concerto Competition musicians@Heleen du Plessis Cellist, Portia Belland pianist Tom McGrathTom McGrath for an evening featuring music by Bach, Hindemith, Barrière and Popper.

A wonderful opportunity to hear Boudewijn again and to celebrate the connections created through the Dunedin Concerto Competition. ❤️🎶
