Charity concert 'Behind the bamboo' will now be a Koha entry event! All it takes is a gold coin donation which will then be split to the respective charities Life Matters and Women's Refuge at the end of the event!
It's next Saturday the 29th of January at 3pm, live music all afternoon/night so come check out the amazing line up!

It's that time of your year for some fine entertainment get your tickets for Behind The Bamboo summer Festival, have a cold beverage from New New New's excellent variety of beverages some wonderful entertainment all for an excellent cause.

Here is a New New New track from The mentalist collective who will be Playing! @ 5pm on the day!

Released on September 8th on all major streaming services. Look out for the EP to follow.

What -
A fundraiser gig to bring awareness to mental health issues in our communities and to support charities that provide help to people that need it.

There will be live bands, DJs, art therapy, information stalls, food and a lovely variety of local beverages.

Where - New New New, 218 Crawford Street, Dunedin

When - 29th January 2022

Why
Most of us suffer from mental health issues or know someone that does. Depression, anxiety, trauma - this is something that I feel most people can relate to. The challenges of the last few years have only made it worse for the most vulnerable.

The mental health services available in New Zealand are severely under-funded and a lot of this need is instead being met by charitable organisations. I want to bring awareness to this and to help by raising money for these organisations to provide their services, supporting people to reach out and connect with them and the rest of the community.

Who - Money raised will go to:
Women's Refuge
Life Matters

The Life Matters Su***de Prevention Trust will also be there on the day taking collections. The charities chosen to provide significant help to the most vulnerable.

Why - Helping support people’s mental health is a real passion of mine. Given the need in Dunedin, I firmly believe in the importance of helping people close to home. I'd also like to promote the idea that having events like this - supporting local charities through music and art, being around open minded people, sharing stories, being able to ask for help, have fun and enjoy themselves - is therapeutic.
