Tonight we have a verrrry special class. The absolute queen Housewifenz is coming to play tunes for us!
Jess has been someone who has made such a big impact on my life here in Dunedin. We met in a car on the way to my first ever 5 rhythms in Waitati, after dancing in Auckland had made me fall out of love with dance.
That first wave, curated by the queen herself, turned my love of dance right back to where it began. Dance as connection, expression, alchemy, joy and a way to enjoy some fu***ng good music. Jess' energy and great tunes blew my world apart then and she's still bringing it every. single. time.
She coached me through making my own 5 rhythms playlist and we raved it out when I was pregnant with my first, she got me out the door with a mini speaker to dance the streets with my baby on my back, taught me to DJ and helped me put on my first ever gig, she even helped coin the name Dancers Anonymous. Jess is someone who loves dance and music and you'll know she's there before you see her, cos if she's not playing tunes you'll hear her laughing. Together we've created so much magic and tonight will be no different.
If you've experienced Housewife's DJ magic out in the world and freestyled to her beats you know what I'm talking about but tonight is something different. We dance in unison together in movement mantras to connect deeply in devotion to the joy of being alive.
Join us tonight 6-7pm St Thomas' Hall corner Pine Hill Road and Raleigh street. Doors open 5.50pm.
