There are some places in New Zealand that just stay with you. 🤍

For me, Otematata is one of those places.

Summer days by the lake, skiing, adventures, and memories that still feel like yesterday. It’s more than just a beautiful landscape, it’s a little piece of home.

So I wanted to capture that feeling in graphite. ✏️

This is Drawn to New Zealand, a series celebrating the places, memories and stories that make this country special.

Seven months. Countless pencil strokes. One finished drawing. 🤍

This piece has been quietly taking shape over the past seven months, and today I can finally call it complete.

Captured in graphite pencil, this beautiful corner of Otematata is more than just a landscape. For so many, it’s a place filled with cherished memories, childhoods spent on the lake, long hot summers, family holidays, and nature at her very best.

I could draw this place a hundred times over, and each piece would tell a different story. That’s the beauty of both art and the places that stay with us. We all see them through the memories we hold.

This one has been an absolute joy to create. ✏️🤍

Sometimes life doesn’t unfold the way we imagined.
The photos we thought we’d take never happen. A loved one leaves too soon. Generations never get the chance to stand together. Moments that live so vividly in our hearts were never captured by a camera.
As an artist, one of the greatest honours of my work is helping bring those moments to life.
I can create the photo that never existed. I can gently piece together treasured memories, connect generations who never had the chance to meet, and turn love, memory, and imagination into something you can hold in your hands. t’s so much more than drawing a portrait.
It’s preserving a story, honouring a life, and creating a timeless keepsake for the people who matter most. With Father’s Day approaching, I feel especially grateful to create portraits that celebrate the people we love most. If there’s a story you’ve always wished was captured, I’d be honoured to create it for you.
