Damon Lockwood is a seasoned playwright from Western Australia, with over 20 years of experience, who relocated to Otautahi/Christchurch, after a European adventure, five years ago. A skilled practitioner of many different theatrical genres, "Cuckoo" represents a return towards drama.

Damon's resume includes:

Horsehead: Winner of Best Play at the Roma Fringe Festival 2013 and staged in both New York and Italy. Nominated for Best Play at the Western Australian Equity Awards and Blue Room Theatre Awards.

Needle in the Haystack: Winner of Best Play at the Noosa One Act Play Festival 2012.

I (honestly) Love You: Nominated for Best Play at the Western Australian Equity Awards and The Blue Room Theatre Awards.
Domestic Bliss: Winner of the national Write Now! competition (NSW) for Best Script.

Pri-mates: Selected for the Australian Script Centre Collection #6 publication.

Numerous other plays staged throughout Australia.

The Big HOO HAA turns 20 today and will celebrate with a birthday show at the Dolphin Theatre. Hope you can get along. The Big Hoo Haa! was a massive part of my life and I’m proud to have been a founding member. Thanks Sam for everything, everything and everyone else who has joined the ride 👏🏼🍾

Great to see the Australian Plays organisation is still going! Across the ditch we don’t keep up with the news, so very glad to find out today that AP and Playwrighting Australia merged to form Australian Plays Transform. Now to update that bio!

Someone has been leaving a teenage girl (CARRIE) secret admirer messages in a different Shakespeare play each week in the school library. On the day he was to reveal himself, a series of unforseen wacky occurrences seem to prevent this revelation from ever happening.
