This September, New Zealand Sri Lanka Cultural Foundation families are taking on the 739 Push-Up Challenge to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation NZ.

🌸 Ōtautahi is about to BLOSSOM! 🌸

With spring just a few hours away, the New Zealand Sri Lanka Cultural Foundation is proud to join hands with Asian Family Services, Welcome Academy Trust and Christchurch City Council in organising this year’s Passport to Ōtautahi & Spring in Ōtautahi celebrations on 4 & 12 September.

For us, collaboration means more than having our name alongside an event. It means our people getting involved, contributing and working together with other communities. ❤️

We’re proud to have Saumya Amarasinghe supporting the event as MCs,Raveen Sanjaya Perera assisting with sound, and many of our Foundation members and Sri Lankan community volunteering behind the scenes.

On 12 September, our Intermediate Dance Group and Music Circle children will also take the stage alongside performers from other local communities. 🎶💃

This is what community collaboration is all about — bringing people, cultures and talents together to create something special for Ōtautahi. 🌏🌸

🎉 **Annual General Meeting 2026** 🎉

The Annual General Meeting of the New Zealand Sri Lanka Cultural Foundation was successfully held on 2 August 2026 at the Halswell Community Hall with the wonderful participation of our students and their families.

It was a great opportunity to reflect on the Foundation's achievements over the past year, share our vision for the future, and strengthen our commitment to promoting Sri Lankan culture while bringing communities together through music and dance.

👏 Congratulations to our newly elected Office Bearers. We wish you every success as you lead the Foundation into its next chapter. We look forward to working together to grow our programmes, create new opportunities for our community, and continue building a vibrant cultural legacy for future generations.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, contributed their ideas, and continues to support the Foundation. Your encouragement and involvement are what make our community so special.

New Zealand Sri Lanka Cultural Foundation is proud to support the 2026 Passport to Ōtautahi & Spring in Ōtautahi community event, led by Asian Family Services and Welcome Academy Trust in partnership with the Multicultural Recreation and Community Centre and Christchurch City Council. The event aims to welcome newcomers and support their successful settlement in Christchurch.
