NZSL Cultural Foundation

NZSL Cultural Foundation The New Zealand Sri Lanka Cultural Foundation is a charitable organisation celebrating Sri Lankan culture across Aotearoa.

We foster unity through traditions, arts, and cuisine, building lasting ties between New Zealand and Sri Lanka. πŸ‡³πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡±πŸ‡° The New Zealand Sri Lanka Cultural Foundation is a charitable organisation dedicated to bringing the vibrant culture of Sri Lanka to life here in New Zealand. Our mission is to share and celebrate Sri Lankan traditions, cuisine, arts, and customs with everyone living in Aotearoa. We

focus on building meaningful bridges between our two cultures and creating lasting connections that bring communities together. We operate through the generous support of our community - from donations by those who use our services, to local sponsorships and grants. This grassroots funding model ensures we remain connected to our community's needs and keep our programmes accessible to all. The cultural connections we foster between New Zealand and Sri Lanka create significant benefits for both nations. By celebrating and sharing Sri Lankan heritage within New Zealand's multicultural society, we help preserve important traditions for future generations whilst promoting greater understanding and collaboration between our peoples. These cultural links strengthen diplomatic and social ties, creating opportunities for mutual growth and respect. Whether you're part of the Sri Lankan community looking to stay connected to your heritage, or a New Zealander interested in learning about Sri Lankan culture, we welcome you to join us in celebrating the rich traditions that connect our two countries.

🎡 Give Your Child the Gift of Music! 🎡

Did you know that learning to sing offers much more than musical skills?

Research shows that learning to sing can help children build confidence, improve communication skills, develop creativity, reduce stress, and make new friends.

Give your child the opportunity to discover their voice, express themselves through music, and develop skills that will benefit them for life.

Our singing sessions with Achini Dinethra Amarakoon provide a fun and supportive environment where children can discover their voice, express themselves, and connect with culture through music.

🌟 We are delighted to share an exciting milestone in the growth of the New Zealand Sri Lanka Cultural Foundation.

Following the success of our Sri Lankan traditional dance programme under the guidance of Pabasara Vidurangi, we are proud to expand our cultural education offerings with Vocal Training Classes led by Achini Amarakoon πŸŽ™οΈπŸŽ΅πŸŽΆ.

Well known and respected within the Sri Lankan and Indian community for her musical talent, Achini also served as the Vocal Trainer for Pada Padma (ࢴාࢯ ࢴࢯ්ࢸ), our special event held to honour and celebrate our senior community members. Her expertise, dedication, and passion for Sri Lankan and Indian music will help us continue our mission of preserving and promoting our rich cultural heritage for future generations. πŸ‡±πŸ‡°βœ¨
