URGENT PEGASUS BAY MEETING – TOMORROW NIGHT

Guys, not my normal sort of post but I really need everyone to pay attention to this.

Members please check your emails regarding the major changes Canterbury Car Club are making and how this could affect Pegasus Bay and the future of drag racing at Ruapuna.

After last night’s committee meeting, it’s clear this is something we all need to take seriously. These changes will impact track access, race dates, and how clubs operate moving forward.

We need as many members as possible at tomorrow night’s meeting. Please come along, stay informed, and support the club.

This is an important time for Pegasus Bay and we need the club standing together.

May 3rd is shaping up to be an absolute weapon of a day at Pegasus Bay Drag Racing Club — bikes, cars, burnouts in the staging lanes (accidental ones… hopefully 👀), and enough smack talk to last us the whole off season.

Spectators — bring ya mates.
Racers — bring ya helmets.

Let’s talk about Will Dawber — the man currently competing against his own car more than the actual competition. 😂💀

Honestly at this point the biggest race happening is:
🏁 Will vs the WOF inspector
🏁 Will vs coolant leaks
🏁 Will vs “ahhh it’ll be fine”
🏁 Will vs his rapidly declining bank account 💸💸💸

Because apparently the LAST time this man tried to get to the track, what started as a simple WOF check turned into:

❌ Failed WOF
❌ Front end rebuild
❌ Cooling system rebuild
❌ Emotional damage
❌ Financial violence

Bro probably opened the bonnet and the car just laughed at him. 😭😂

NOW… feast your eyes on this absolute unit of a machine…

A 1965 Pontiac Bonneville 🚢🇺🇸
Owned by his old man Mark, who was out there running Pegasus Bay back in the 80s when men solved problems with burnout smoke and questionable life choices. 😎🔥

Back then this beast had a worked 462ci monster in it… proper “your neighbour can hear this from Ashburton” kinda setup.

But NOW?
The old girl’s rocking her original standard 389ci motor… and when I say tired… I mean this thing made 225whp at Flame Performance and probably needed oxygen afterwards. 😂💨

This isn’t a race car anymore.
This is a fully licensed couch with torque. 🛋️💀

And honestly?
WE LOVE IT. 🔥🔥🔥

Because while some of you lot are out here with billet everything and enough boost to split the Earth in half… Will is showing up in a gigantic 1960s battleship powered entirely by determination, old fuel fumes, and “f**k it send it” energy. 😂🇺🇸

You know the best part?

IF IT ACTUALLY MAKES IT TO THE TRACK THIS WEEKEND…
that’s basically a class win already. 🏆😭

So when you see this giant Pontiac rolling into the pits make sure you give Will a cheer… mostly because we’re all genuinely shocked it survived the journey there. 💀😂🔥
