Update from the XCHC events department:

In a Pickle Themed Quiz #1 has been pushed to Sep 30. You have until then to assemble your team and acquire suspiciously specific knowledge. Free entry, good vibes, excellent prizes.

Due to popular demand, we’ve added another ecstatic dance Saturday the 26th! Come shake, wiggle, flop and otherwise move your corporeal vessel around the room.

Also recently added: Hōhepa DJ Party, a night of DJs, dancing and good times, hosted by the fine folks at Hōhepa Canterbury.

And, SOLAR FLAIR has arrived on the shores of Aotearoa! Come sweat it out to some fabulously funky beats, engage with local interactive artists, check out the activities, or just find a quiet couch to chat with mates.

More events are inevitably appearing. Keep an eye out.

You asked for it so here is another ecstatic dance with Dance Temple and David Juno! 😍✨

On Saturday the 26th we will be dancing! Come join us for a conscious dance on the carpeted and heated dancefloor of XCHC! 😍

[TICKETS]: door only, sliding scale $15-30
[CAPACITY]: limited to 40 people - Please arrive early to secure your spot

Dance Temple is a freeform movement journey: a gently guided ecstatic dance experience. 🤩

It is a co-created space for our community, where all bodies are welcome. The journey is gently facilitated and curated by our team, with an epic live DJ to get us grooving.

We dance for connection, we dance to play, we dance to be free.
We dance to feel, to move with all aspects of ourselves, welcoming the waves and all.
We dance to our joy and to our sorrow. We dance to come home.

We know that music and movement are powerful portals to expression, it is medicine for our bodies and souls.

This space is our temple - we show up as we are, in all our perfect imperfections.

We dance sober, silently (without words) and shoeless. ✨

All are welcome, regardless of race, identity, age, gender, beliefs, religion etc

We realise that not everyone has access to the same finances or resources; if these are barriers for you, please reach out to us!
If you have ample finances or resources, please consider offering some koha to help combat the disparities in our community so we can all have access to the same privileges.

The best of Ōtautahi’s flow artists are performing this Saturday the 12th! You coming down? 👀✨

Flow artists pull crowds all over Aotearoa, we figured it was time to get flow artists a stage all of their own! 😍

Flowforum is THE monthly space where the flow and circus community can show off their new glow performances, their new kicks and new tricks.

You will see performers with decades of experience.
You will see performers step up for their first time performing on stage.
You will hear DJ’s on the decks keeping the party going deep into the night.

Come join us for a night of raucous cheering and speechless amazement (probably not at the same time though 🤪).

Kitty Strawberry, Roguesoul, Cat Littlejohn and many more confirmed. Yet more to come!

**If you want skill up and start your flow arts journey, we’ve got you sorted.**

Jet from Roguesoul Fireshows will be running a 1 hour beginer poi workshop from 7pm.

This is where he will teach you the basics of how to move and dance with the poi. Not just a couple tricks but a whole starting foundation that’ll set you up with your new creative addiction 😍✨
