Every Thursday night from 6.30pm we come together at XCHC for a collective art hack session!

Everyone is welcome to join, BYO project =^.^=
Suitable for introverts and extroverts alike.

This is inspired by “art~hack [wlg]” group that started 10 years ago and still going strong. People bring mostly projects that sit between technology and art, but all creative projects are welcomed. whatever is your thing! Maybe it’s an experiment, a beat in your head, a video/film, a conversation, some electronics, a notebook, a costume, your art can be anything.

hacking is about creative exploration, it’s about joyous problem solving, it’s about having fun sharpening skills.”

Ōtautahi’s own sonic tinkerer. Ableton Certified Trainer. Co-founder of .instruments. A pioneer of fully live electronic performance who’s toured over 30 countries; now building custom synths and machines that push what’s possible with sound.

You may have seen him play at the recent , and will be bringing those deep 4x4 grooves tomorrow night alongside for one unmissable Saturday night session.

Antaares is an electronic musician from Mexico City known for his deep, elegant grooves and powerful live performances. He’s brought his signature style across 16 countries at some of the world’s most prominent electronic stages such as Fusion Festival, Kater Blau, Envision and Wonderfruit, — and now he’s bringing it to Ōtautahi.

Antaares sits in that sweet spot for lovers of lower frequencies; slow, deep, and chunky, with rich textures and thoughtful sound design. His more recent work pushes into midtempo territory while keeping that unmistakable signature warmth.

Music production workshop tonight w/ .faber

Whether you’re a production beginner or professional, join us at 7pm this evening @ XCHC to learn the tips and tricks from the wizards of sound, Kon Faber.
•
They just arrived from Berlin and as a part of SOL Festival this weekend, and will be gracing the festival circuit and venues across Aotearoa with their unique groovy sound over the summer.
•
They also recently performed alongside an orchestra, and we’re looking forward to hearing more about their experiences since they last stayed with us 1 year ago.
