👀 Interested in creating art for the stage? We have dreams of collaborating with our local Asian creative community.

Right now, we are casting our net to know who is currently in our wonderful community. So if you identify as Asian, live in Christchurch, and have even the tiniest interest in performing or creating - we are LITERALLY looking for you! We want to hear from you whether you are a seasoned professional or just starting out in your creative field.

We also have some potential shows lined up for 2026, and we can’t wait to bring them to life together with our community.

📣 Table for Three is back for a development reading! 🎭✨

Join us at the Asian Arts Festival - a celebration of Asian arts and cultures at The Arts Centre on July 27th from 10 AM to 5 PM. 🌏🎉

Showcasing music, theatre, dance, a childrens’ fashion show, food, art market, talk show, cultural performances and more. 🎶🎨🍜

Don’t miss the development play reading of “Table for Three,” written by and which follows a follows a family through a sudden and unexplained loss. Robin grasps at a connection with their mum that has always been missing. Realising that they’ll never be able to achieve it on their own, Robin starts to mimic their sibling Riley’s behaviour. Meanwhile, their mum is struggling through the loss.

The family uses poetry to shed light on unspoken feelings. Mum and child try to navigate their personal and shared feelings as they tackle grief, mental health, and the reality that, sometimes, life just gets tough.

Tom studied at Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School. He worked across Aotearoa as a devising actor before moving back to Ōtautahi. Tom has performed at The Court Theatre regularly over the last 6 years, as well as teaching at Original Scripts Theatre School, NASDA and The Court Theatre Youth Company. He is the co-artistic director of Two Productions

Welcome to CachoMart!

Our last FOTPA development reading in Ōtautahi for the year is RJ Hilaga’s ‘CachoMart!’

"A silly story about the hijinks that happen in an Asian Supermarket”

RJ Hilaga, a talented Filipino Graphic Designer and Artist, is embarking on a new creative journey as an aspiring screenwriter.

Currently, RJ is one of the five members of the Ōtautahi-based design collective Fourth Floor, but he has recently felt a strong desire to revisit his theatrical roots. And what better way to begin this journey than with FOTP?

With a liking for silly and absurd comedies, RJ is feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness as he prepares to share his first draft for "CachoMart!”

This is our Boosted show! This wouldn’t be happening with your generosity and support! So make sure you come along and celebrate with us!
