Christchurch Competitions Society -Vocal Welcome to the Christchurch Competitions Society Vocal page. We do this through our annual competitions.

The Christchurch Competitions Society is part of the Performing Arts Competitions Association of New Zealand. Our Mission is to promote the arts amongst young people, providing a public platform to give them an opportunity to perform and compete.

We’re thrilled to announce the return of the Ōtautahi Vocal Competitions in 2026! 🎶

Calling all classical singers, this is your chance to step on stage, share your voice, and be part of an inspiring celebration of vocal talent.

Our Junior competitions will be held 4–6 July at the University of Canterbury Recital Rooms, with Senior competitions following over Matariki Weekend (10–11 July) at The Piano.

With the 1st May just around the corner, we have decided to extend the Entry close date for both Senior & Junior Entries to the Sunday 24th May 2025.

That being said, this is a reminder to please get your entries sent through. Once we have received your entry form, you will receive an invoice via Email.

With the Senior Competitions happening on Matariki Weekend 20th, 21st, 22nd June and the Junior Competitions on 28th, 29th, 30th June, we have a fun packed festival planned with only FIVE days to breathe, rejuvenate and celebrate between events.

This past weekend the 2024 Junior Vocal Competitions took place at the UC Recital Room at the Art Centre.

Look at the cuties from Class 106 - Song in Costume (10-13yrs).

Well done to all competitors and big thanks to our Junior Adjudicator Patrick Shepard.
