The Wharenui Harikoa is leaving the Canterbury Museum Pop-up tomorrow to tour the world for 2 years! Wharenui Harikoa (The House of Joy) was crocheted over 3 years.
It is such a wonderful thing created by Lissy & Rudi. We were lucky enough to see it when Lissy and Rudi were here a few months ago.
Thank you for bringing your work to the world, it really is a joy :)

chch is available for classes for school age children 5-10 years, and also caters to home schooling children.

The amazingly talented Sam Bates is running Story Box, with years of professional teaching and dancing behind her, she is passionate about creating learning experiences for children through drama.

Story Box Drama encourages the whimsical and magic for our kiddies, yeah to that!

WORKSHOP & CREATIVE RETREAT

I’m so excited to bring you this very special workshop and retreat in collaboration with artist , in the magical fairytale space of , Little River.

This is a wonderful chance to create your own botanical artwork with personal guidance from Julia. You will be led in watercolour techniques and exercises and Julia will share her process with you.
Delicious botanically inspired lunch and drinks will be served.
Option for day workshops, and overnight option staying in a yurt or teepee with more creative activities, whole food breakfast and yoga.

Dear Woman, Wahine; you are invited to take a moment for yourself in this beautiful time of Spring change to reset your nervous system.

We give a lot to others in our busy lives; the intention of this mini retreat is to allow space for you to step off the treadmill for a moment and to just BE in your own womanly body.

Our focus will be on embracing our feminine essence and to practice the art of receiving.

In our small group of like minded women, we can safely ‘unhook’ and enjoy our femininity, laugh and be inspired by each other and find a strength that will renew our spirits.

Our intent is for you to leave the retreat with a soothed nervous system, ignited feminine energy, feeling more balanced, resilient and joyful.

The stars are shining brighter in the winter sky and it is still dark when we get up in the morning, we are headed towards the longest night or shortest day of the year, the Winter solstice, and the stars of Matariki, also known as the PLEIDES are bringing their mystery and magic to our eyes.

Let’s celebrate that! It’s worth celebrating that magical cosmos phenomena.

Gather your littles and come and honour the Winter solstice and Matariki by making a wreath to hang in your home, using branches and making your own stars to decorate with.

Two kids home sick, I made a simple craft activity to get them outside for 10 minutes - collect leaves and make a sticky poster.

One child ventured outside and half collected leaves with me, stuck a few leaves down, then moved on to something else.

This was one of those classic parenting moments when you think the kids will participate and you spend time setting it all up, only to find they last 2 minutes. So I did it myself because it brings me pleasure.

Leaves, sandwiched between two sheets of duracel paper, easy and oh so satisfying.
