Last Friday we celebrated together at our yearly prizegiving ceremony. As part of this we enjoyed performances from our senior choir and brass band.

Our choir performed “You’ll Be in My Heart” from the movie Tarzan, which was one of our favourite festival songs this year.

The brass band performed a rousing rendition of “When the Saints Go Marching In” with the support of Mr Muschamp and Mr Randall - thank you both!

As the year draws to a close it is wonderful to see these musical performances that our groups have worked so hard on throughout the year. Well done all!

Yesterday our Russley Kapahaka Rōpu took to the Town Hall stage to compete in the annual Tūhono festival.

Our group has been preparing all year and working exceptionally hard, and all of that mahi was evident on stage. What an absolutely stunning performance! We were full of energy and blew the crowd away 🤩

Our hard work was recognised with a few awards on the day.
🥇First place for waiata tira
🥉Third place for our action song
🥇First place female leader (Lili)
🥇First place soloist (Lili)

And a very well deserved 🥈Second Place Overall 🤩🤩🥳🥳

Special congrats to Lili for her individual recognitiom and a huge well done to our whole rōpu for such fabulous results.

A massive thank you to Mātua Steve for all the time and effort he has put into our school and group. Thank you to Miss Simmonds for leading us and for all your efforts! To Miss Barr, Miss Smith and all the other helpers behind the scenes, we appreciate you!!

Well done TPK Russley for another outstanding year. You smashed it!! 🤩✨⭐️

Approximately 6-7million children came along today to be a part of the World Famous Russley Christmas Choir!!

You probably heard our dulcet tones reverberating around Christchurch, spreading joy far and wide 🤩🎶

Look forward to seeing you all when we perform at the annual Christmas Picnic on December 5th 🥳

Our Junior Choir had their final performance of the year yesterday, getting up and singing beautifully in front of our assembly. Congratulations guys, you’ve worked hard and sounded amazing!
A special shout out to our small group of Zepplyn, Evie, Tiana, Aoife and Jordyn, who nailed their solo at the start of the song 🤩
I look forward to welcoming some of you to senior choir next year! What awesome singers we have at Russley!

What an amazing night at the festival. It was a wonderful line up of incredible music - what an experience to be a part of.

Russley you represented us beautifully and did us proud up there. You have worked hard on learning the material and that showed in your confidence and singing.

A special congratulations to our representative musicians who performed so well and all the best for your final two nights! A shout out to Henry who not only is receiving a prestigious 4 year medal this year, but also did a flawless job as a compère.

We hope you all enjoyed the night as much as we did! Thank you for all the whanau support to get our singers to early morning rehearsals and to the performance last night. Amazing!

We are here at the Town Hall ready to start our rehearsal for tonight’s festival performance 🤩

We’re in the same spot as the last couple of years - just to the left of the organ if you are looking at the stage!

Last night we held the annual Russley Music Night. This is always a fabulous opportunity for our music students to shine, and show off their hard work. We enjoyed performances from the ukulele orchestra, brass band and rock band, as well as soloists on flute, recorder, guitar, drums and piano.

We have such an amazing pool of talent at Russley and it was awesome to see that on the stage. A big thank you to all our itinerant music teachers who put in so much work to support the music in our school. Thank you too to all the whānau who came along to share in this musical extravaganza!

We are a creative bunch at TPK Russley and we also love to celebrate things that are happening in performing arts outside of school!

There are a few shows coming up featuring some of our very own talent.

🌟 Superstar Y5 actor Katherine is starring as Little Alice alongside ex-Russley student Isy as Big Alice in Visionary’s production of Alice in Wonderland 🐇 Her sister Evie is also going to be on stage with her! Coming up on the 24th and 25th of September, see them all on stage in this gorgeous show!
