Would you like to learn how to knit socks - come along to one of our Super Sock Saturdays!

Here are the details:-

4 hours on a Saturday (dates below) - 10 to 12 and then a break for lunch and 1 to 3 to conclude.

You will make a child's sock (as per the photo) which is an exact replica of an adult sock.

It means you will get the sample sock finished before you leave.

You will know exactly what to do when you get home and it won't just get put aside unfinished and eventually overlooked.

You will learn:-
Magic Loop knitting;
Double chain cast on;
Reinforced heel turn and gusset;
Kitchener stitch joining.

A few basic knitting skills are required for you to be able to take part in the class - basic knitting and purling; k2tog; ssk; picking up stitches.

The cost is $75.00 per person and includes:-
Your choice of Crucci sock yarn (one ball);
A Chiaogoo fixed needle;
A darning needle;
Your pattern and instruction booklet;
Tea, coffee, biscuits and water available all day.
Andrea's fantastic tuition. (Andrea Dobbs is an outstanding tutor who does evening classes at Fraser High School and also personal tuition. She is going to be working as our ongoing sock and crochet tutor extraordinaire!)

10 people are required for each class.

The Saturdays on offer initially are:-
October -
24th (even though this is Labour Weekend not everyone goes away and there may also be family and friends wanting to come along with you);

November -
7th, 14th, 21st and 28th.

Following this, Simple Sock Saturdays will be the first weekend of each month.

For lunch - there are cafes nearby or you are more than welcome to bring something with you and to sit outside and enjoy all that Spring and early Summer has to offer. There are tables and chairs.

Please email me with your preferred date and I can send you an invoice to get things underway. I will also send the yarn colour options available.

Wow! This incredible blanket has been made by a gorgeous friend - Kaye. It is the Ardith Baby Crochet Blanket by Hooked on Sunshine - Vanessa Smith. The yarn used is the Himalaya Dk which has fantastic colours and feel and will survive the washing
machine and dryer! Thank you Kaye for loaning us this fabulous blanket to have instore!

I love my knitting groups so much - I love seeing the projects being created; new yarns and patterns; helping and sharing of technics. But what I love the most are the friendships within the groups - excitement about new projects, an upcoming event, holiday, a concern or worry - it is so special to be part of this. Today was even more special with a tiny visitor. Just two days old and rescued by the Gorgeous Cherie - a tiny lamb was cuddled and cherished by my Wednesday ladies - so cute and so precious - the source of all we hold dear - New Zealand wool.
