🎭 Introducing the Directors of Little Grimley! 🎭

Meet Abby James, making her directorial debut, and her dashing (yet remarkably humble) Assistant Director, Bridget McNamara—who also happens to be writing this post.

Abby is bringing the wonderfully chaotic world of Little Grimley to life, guiding our cast through every mishap, misunderstanding, and moment of theatrical mayhem. With a love of English comedy and farce, Abby truly "gets" these plays and has some wonderful ideas and delightful surprises in store for our audiences.

With Abby at the helm, the cast and creative team are only weeks into rehearsals but are already having an absolute blast creating a production packed with laughter, chaos, and larger-than-life characters.

Join us for a hilarious evening featuring David Tristram's Last Tango in Little Grimley and The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley.

🎟️ Keep an eye out—ticket sales will be announced soon.

🎭 Introducing the Dudes of Little Grimley! 🎭

Meet Peter Morice and Paul Southey as Bernard and Gordon, the two blokes on the four-person committee that makes up the entire membership of the struggling Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society.

Gordon is the well-meaning (and often exasperated) President, desperately trying to keep the society afloat and steer his unruly committee out of financial trouble. Bernard, meanwhile, is the long-suffering—and occasionally insufferable—jack-of-all-trades who handles the sets, lighting, sound, and backstage duties, and would much rather stay behind the curtain than step into the spotlight.

Paul and Peter have shared many roles both on and off the stage at the Boathouse Theatre, and their natural camaraderie, humour, and good-natured ribbing translate perfectly into these lovable characters.

Join us for a hilarious evening in Little Grimley, featuring two laugh-out-loud plays by David Tristram: Last Tango in Little Grimley and The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley.

Directed by Abby James with Bridget McNamara, this production promises plenty of laughs, chaos, and classic community theatre antics.

🎟️ Keep an eye out—ticket sales will be announced soon!

🎭 Introducing the Dames of Little Grimley!

Amanda Tollemache and Aley Matthews need no introduction to our Boathouse audiences. These brilliant character actresses bring humour, warmth, and irresistible charm to the roles of Margaret—the flamboyant prima donna of the Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society—and Joyce, the lovable (and slightly dim!) treasurer with a passion for all things musical.

Join us for a night in Little Grimley, featuring two plays from this hilarious series by writer David Tristram: *Last Tango in Little Grimley* and *The Fat Lady Sings in Little Grimley*.

Directed by Abby James with Bridget McNamara, keep an eye out—ticket sales will be announced soon!

TOMORROW 🚨 (and Tomorrow, and tomorrow... or in our case — opening night 🎭✨)

After weeks of rehearsals, singing, laughter, and a few near-misses with the dog… we’re ready.

Final tickets are selling fast — don’t miss your chance 🎟

Here’s a sneak peek at the magic of Shakespeare in Love — with stunning shots by Jim Tannock Photography capturing all the drama, romance, action, and fun this show brings to life.

(And… what do we think of our brooding Shakespeare? 👀✨)

Shakespeare in Love, directed by Pam Logan with Amanda Tollemache and Liz McKay as Musical Director, opens tomorrow night, ten shows only, until April 25th.

12/04/2026

Paul Southey will be known to many, and in particular the writer of this post... his wife.

Paul is our Burbage, a true peddler of bombast, a phase used to describe dramatic and bombastic actors. Is he well-cast or what?
