Curtain Up! Join us for a spectacular evening celebrating 10 years of Whitehaven Theatre Marlborough and the 50th Anniversary of the Marlborough Civic Theatre Trust.

This special event brings together some of Marlborough’s most loved performing arts groups, including Blenheim Choral Society, Blenheim Musical Theatre, David and Kathy Moseley, Marlborough District Brass Band, Marlborough Academy of Dance, Marlborough Boys’ College, Marlborough Children’s and Youth Theatre, Marlborough Symphony Orchestra, Te Tauihu Performing Arts Studio, and Vita Vaka, and many more. This inspiring showcase will be directed by Jeannie Mark, promising a vibrant celebration of local talent and community spirit.

From powerful musical moments to vibrant dance and theatrical highlights, Curtain Up! celebrates the creativity, talent, and community that have shaped Marlborough’s performing arts for generations.

Two Bands : One Concert is a performance of the best brass musicianship from Marlborough bands, as they prepare to attend the NZ National Championships.

Marlborough District Brass Band will play the B grade test piece “Images “, as well as their own choice test, and sacred item. Contest rules prevent us from disclosing these two pieces publicly, but come to the concert or the big reveal.

This year Marlborough will also enter a Youth Band into the NZ Championships with a fun test piece “Oregon” referring to the Oregon Express train, plus three other numbers.

Iconic British rock band, Pink Floyd left an indelible mark on the world, inspiring generations with their ground-breaking soundscapes and thought-provoking lyrics. 2025 marked the diamond anniversary of Pink Floyd's inception, and to honour this milestone every era of Pink Floyd's illustrious career will be celebrated in grand style in a brand-new concert production by Australia’s own Echoes of Pink Floyd.

Echoes of Pink Floyd will take audiences on a mesmerizing journey through six decades of Pink Floyd's unparalleled musical legacy. From the psychedelic sounds of the 1960s to the progressive rock masterpieces and stadium-shaking anthems of their later years, this show will capture the true essence of Pink Floyd's evolution with precision and passion.

Get ready for a night of mischief, magic, and music! Matilda the Musical brings Roald Dahl’s beloved story to life in a hilarious, high-energy production that’s perfect for the whole family.

Meet Matilda – a little girl with a big brain, a wild imagination, and a knack for standing up to bullies. She’s ignored by her awful parents and terrorised by the fearsome Miss Trunchbull, but with courage, cleverness, and a few surprising powers, Matilda shows everyone that even the smallest person can make a big difference.

Packed with catchy songs by Tim Minchin, dazzling choreography, and laugh-out-loud moments, this show will have you cheering for Matilda and her classmates as they take on the grown-ups and rewrite their own destinies.

A curly tale for tamariki!
A fabulous show for littlies (and their parents and grandparents!).

Dazzlehands, the award-winning story of the persuasive pig who won’t take no for an answer, by Wellington author and illustrator Sacha Cotter and Josh Morgan, is a hot favourite with young audiences, on the mat at pre-school and as a much-requested bedtime story.

Now, RNZB Principal Joshua Guillemot-Rodgerson and Education and Community Engagement Manager Lauren Byrne are thrilled to have turned Dazzlehands into a moving and grooving ballet bash for six performers plus narration, with enchanting original music by William Phillipson and laugh-out-loud character costumes by Victoria Gridley.

A wildly playful, funny, and romantic work of historical fiction “Shakespeare In Love”, directed by Pam Logan and Amanda Tollemache, with Liz McKay as Musical Director and brought to life by local actors, launches the Marlborough Repertory Society at the Boathouse Theatre’s 2026 season.

So what’s it about?

A penniless and indebted to two demanding producers, struggling young playwright William Shakespeare is tormented by writer’s block until he meets the beautiful Viola de Lesseps, daughter of a wealthy merchant, whose fiery passion for poetry and drama leaves her secretly longing to be an actor.

Both are despondent when they learn that Viola’s father has promised her to the stuffy Lord Wessex in order to gain a title for their family. Under the veil of secrecy, Will and Viola’s passionate love affair becomes the basis of the very play he is writing – Romeo and Juliet. With opening night – and the wedding day – fast approaching, the plots race toward a parallel conclusion. Will it all work out in the end or are the two star-crossed lovers destined for tragedy?
